What definitely happened at Fashion Forward Dubai
This was my second time attending the much awaited fashion event where members of the regional and international fashion communities come together to support Middle Eastern design. Think of it as the Fashion Week equivalent for the Middle East. There’s runway shows, presentations, and even talks and seminars led by global industry experts and fashion academia.
- Fashionistas were dressed to the nines:
Sure, I may have a blog and occasionally like to play dress up. But everybody who knows me knows that I’ll always opt for comfort over glam any day. While I wore a simple off the shoulder red Black Halo top, with wide leg black trousers, others were spectacularly dressed in tiny dresses, and over the top glitzy outfits. There was so much beauty to take in!
- Designers brought out their A- game
I was lucky to be front row at Kristina Fidelskaya’s show. Although her line may be a little too classic for my taste, her collection was undeniably elegant and timeless. All the models exuded refined feminity and class.
Hussein Bazaza was another show stopper with his jaw dropping collection. I don’t care if you think I’m biased just because he’s Lebanese. Maybe I am.
- The weather was not cooperating
It pretty much rained throughout the 3 day event. Indeed strange for Dubai. Who knows if it’s really all due to this cloud seeding they’re doing or not.
Regardless, I did get to meet some lovely people while huddled under umbrellas to hide from the rain. So it wasn’t all bad after all.
